Find over 50 km of coastal regions that are home to around 27 beaches. Of the 27 beaches within the region there are 12 that have been awarded with the blue flag. These beaches make for ideal spots for swimming, diving and even snorkeling. The best part about the beaches of Paphos is that the climate there is perfect all throughout the year. This means that you can enjoy the outdoors whenever you’d like. Throughout these beaches you can find all kinds of great hotels and accommodations that will make your trip very comfortable. In case you weren’t familiar with what the blue flag award is; it’s a very prestigious international award that is given to a beach or marina if they are considered to be of outstanding quality. The award is based on 29 different criteria that go over environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management and also safety.
We’re going to go over some of the blue flag beaches within the Paphos area and tell you a bit about what you can expect during your visit.
Alykes Beach
Here you can find beautiful golden sands and breakwater that offers an ideal location for swimming. You have the ability to rent a sun bed as well as an umbrella that provides a relaxing lounge area. You can also take part in a number of water sports.
Faros Beach
In the western part of Paphos you can find the beach of Faros. Here you can expect to see beautiful clear sands that are filled with many fun attractions. Volleyball is a very popular activity within the beach, but you can expect all kinds of other exciting attractions.
Pachyammos Beach
This is a smaller, but very fun-filled beach. You will find everything you need for a very fun day in the outdoors. The beach is very narrow and has a sheltered area that is absolutely gorgeous. Within a close proximity you can find a number of bars, restaurant and hotels that are more than accommodating.
Vrysoudia beach
This is considered to be one of the most popular beaches within the region. It’s known for its gorgeous board walks, stunningly clear waters, and perfect climate. You can enjoy many gorgeous views from the beach and there are plenty of fun water sports to take part in.
Coral Bay Beach
This beautiful beach is considered to be one of the best sandy beaches within Cyprus. Here you can take in the sights of the curved bay, have fun in the many bars and taverns, and also spend time within the friendly crowds that are attracted to the region.
These are only a handful of the blue flag awarded beaches that you can find in the region of Paphos. It’s quite clear to see that this is one of the best areas for enjoying the sea. If you’re looking for fun on the beach, Paphos is just the place to visit.
